On Land and water the litter will not win!

Wed 22 Sep
Report written by Alys Penfold

This evening 7 of us met at WWF for a litter pick around the canal; this week it was a litter pick with a difference. Not only on Land but also on Water.

Holly and Alys brought their paddle boards and James, Victoria, Anne, Adam and Katie walked along the canal collecting litter. The canal and park were surprisingly clean but we still managed to find some litter to collect.

Well done

James for completing the Hampton Court half marathon on Sunday!

Good luck

James and Adam with the Surrey Half on Sunday and also Victoria who is taking part in the 5km event.

We wish Anne a lovely holiday in France and we look forward to your return! You will be missed!

Next Week

We will be at Brockhill, meeting at WWF for a jog/run down the canal!

Please remember head torches!

A (virtual) pint of the dark stuff

Sun 19 Sep
Report written by Bethan Greenaway

A HUGE number of Goodgymers rose to the challenge of completing a 10K over the weekend with the aim of becoming world record holders, watch out Mo Farrah!

We will know soon whether the challenge of setting the record for the most people running a virtual 10K run in 2021! Fingers crossed!!

If nothing else us Goodgymers seem to have had a fabulous time. I've very much enjoyed the pictures of ice-creams, beautiful views and gorgeous smiling faces which have been popping up in my inbox.

Well done everyone!

The return of the brambles (take 2)

Wed 8 Sep
Report written by Anne FB

There is no better way to spend an evening: good friends, drinks, meeting in the natural world…

Five of us gathered our strength to climb over the locked gate… Guess who:

  • climbed graciously over it;
  • showed their muscles while jumping confidently over the same gate;
  • was thrown over it (and safely caught);
  • got stuck on top of it;
  • crawled under it… A reward for who has the all correct answers.

We worked steadily until dark came upon us. It was good to catch up on news and discuss the future group runs.

Best wishes to Holly who is competing this coming Sunday (running/swimming).

Do not worry if you could not join us this week, next Wednesday we will meet at the Lighthouse (next to the station – where we used to go to help at the foodbank) and will be very happy to see you all!

In the meantime, happy running to everyone.
