Please wear loose clothes, you need a yoga mat(or similar) and may be a thin blanket for relaxation. Please let me know if you have any questions or if its your first time. I will email a link out on the day or on the Yoga whatsApp group. ( let me know if you what to go on the group)
We are looking to help the Ranger in Highgate Woods who usual takes the time to show us around and is very knowledgeable. Possibly general assistance or Den destruction. Meet at the café ( middle of the woods) at 11am just six Good Gym volunteers required. Limited numbers of places first come basis. Social distance will be maintained throughout our visit. Hope you can run cycle or walk to the task. The Ranger is Cindy.
Five good gym members came together to help the friends of Friary park in Barnet. It was a cool dark night so after some brief introductions we did a warm up. Richard from the friends split the group into two. One group worked on the path weeds from the house and two others on cleaning up the park signs. You can see the results in the photos. Give a shout out to Jane on her first goodgym outing. This is her local park and its great for a perimeter run as it is just over 1 km with hills. Why not invite a friend (or Goodgym runner) to visit and do a couple of laps and reward yourself with a drink at the cafe. Maybe do one lap and then try and beat your time with the second lap.
Thanks for coming and doing some good.
GoodGym were again invited by Suzanne and her team at the Friends of Finchley Way Open Space to assist in their monthly task to improve the gardens. This time, we were tasked with removing ivy and other foliage from around the main gate, to make it more obvious that this was an entrance.
We also created "windows" so passers-by could see the park from the road, by removing leaves and branches above perimeter-fence height in certain areas.
Barnet mascot Florence Jack-Russell also turned up. Sadly she wasn't able to assist very much, but still managed to delight every human in attendance
