Tonight we headed to our friends at Friends of the Earth.
Jonny and Eve ran the 2k to the task venue, whilst Annie and Amy met us at the task.
The task was to clean the alcohol and food cellar and clean the floor and wall around the fridges.
Amy and Annie did the cellar and Jonny and Eve did the floor and wall.
There was lots of wine to move in the cellar, Annie and Amy certainly had a smashing time..literally as one did end up on the floor! But that was no big deal as we could really see the difference we had made by the end of the task :)

Annie Smith done 100 good deeds with GoodGym.
Annie has just reached another level: 100 good deeds with GoodGym. That's at least 100 times when they could have easily done something easier. But they didn't, Annie has kept going and going. Helping a lot of other people and getting a bit fitter at the same time. Congratulations Annie.

It was a chilly yet buzzing morning at Edgbaston Reservoir parkrun as we came together for a COBS and GoodGym takeover!
RD Liam had plenty of volunteers so some of us even got to pair up! Eve and Miriam kept the funnel under control, Balal was a pro at barcode scanning and Amy ran it with Luka the dog, while Annie rang the parkrun bell for runners alongside Taj from COBS!
A special mention to our wonderful Annie, a GG Brum OG who has reached her 100th (logged) good deed!
We all enjoyed some sweets and flapjacks to celebrate! 😊

Tonight was GoodGym Brum's 7th birthday! So we had a great task planned at The Friends of the Earth.
Anna, Eve, James and Jonny ran the 2k to the task, whilst Annie, Amy and our 2 legged friend Luka were our walkers.
On arrival it was dogs galore as we were met by the taskowner with Marcel the Dog. Luka and Marcel were soon aquainted as you can see in the pictures :)
The task was litter picking and recycling and shredding paper. Jonny and Eve did the paper stuff and James, Anna, Annie, Amy and of course Luka did the litter picking.
Once finished we had a group photo with Luka posing for a perfect picture!

Did you know trainers take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade? That means if King Harold wore running shoes at the Battle of Hastings they'd still be around today.
That's why the work of JogOn is so important. They recycle and reuse running shoes saving them from landfill. Many pairs get given to schools, community groups and organisations that can redistribute them to people who need them.
People attending the running show were asked to bring old trainers to donate and managed to fill 2 huge perspex containers which GoodGym was asked to unpack at the end. A bit of jiggling and manoeuvering and the containers came undone with hundreds of pairs of shoes falling onto the floor. A quick check they were all in pairs and we packed them into boxes ready to be given away.
JogOn are always accepting donations. Find out how you can donate here: https://www.jogonagain.com/
