Weeding and digging at Southlands Community Garden (Bishopthorpe Rd)

Once finished, the garden space will be open for the public, and provide a rest space for those walking into town. The resident artists plan to use the garden for workshops, and the garden will have pollinators to attract bees, and help with a wildlife corridor across the city.

GoodGym's task is to weed and dig over the extensive beds, so others can then begin planting the plants secured by Planet food. They have a further £2K worth of plants to go in, but need the manpower to remove the weeds grown during lockdown.

Please bring gloves if you can and meet at the front of the church (Bishopthorpe Road entrance). There will be a small group already there, so please keep apart and look out for GoodGym t-shirts.
