Join the regeneration of the Brent River. You can be an important part of the re-wilding of your local Brook.

We will be helping cleaning-up and enhancing the river bed, banks and park area. Our Events will consist of litter picks, creature surveys, scrub clearance, and re-planting Events. Help make the best of this space! You are not required to bring any equipment, all required tools will be provided for at the events.

Unblocking The Burnt Oak Brook: This is part of the “Restoring Brent Rivers and Communities Project” which has been funded and supported by the Greggs Foundation, Barnet Council, and Thames Water. The Project hopes to: * * Remove redundant artificial bank materials to reconnect the Burnt Oak brook to the floodplain and rehabilitate marginal habitats. * * Introduce large wood groynes to meander the brook more naturally in its channel. * * Bank top vegetation management, to increase light, aesthetics, and safety by opening up public views of the brook. * * Encourage volunteer groups to form and start their own event days under the Thames21 banner * * Educate and raise awareness of the “Bin It Don’t Block It” message to the local community, so that non flushable products are not entering the sewage system as frequently, which causes Overspill events into our Rivers, impacting on our wildlife and wild spaces. Meeting point: We will be meeting in the park next to the brook, towards the junction of Watling Avenue/Orange Hill Road. You will find a Van parked by the brook.
