We had a lovely session in a rare window of sunshine today, clearing a grassy meadow at Mayfield Grove Nature reserve.

The organisers were well prepared and had divided the area up into sections and had a range of tools for us to use. The range of competence using a scythe varied but we all had shears as well as back up.

A huge shout out to Tom who walked a marathon to get to the task! It did mean he was an hour late but we’ll let him off!

After 90 minutes the area was well cut back. We all had some of Leanne’s delicious cake then went our separate ways (some of us via the pub!).

Thank you team.
