Mission

Really "Branching" Out

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Sheffield.

A chilly old mission for Helen and Steve - both wearing many layers, hats and gloves - this morning. Mrs C wanted the hedges trimming, lawn mowing and flowerbeds de-weeding for the winter.

Steve set to with the hedges, which proved to be a bit more difficult than first thought, given the thickness of some of the branches: "Some are as thick as my thumb!". The trimmer struggled to cut through these branches. We asked if any other tools were available... they were! Thick they may have been, but even the sturdiest hedge was no match for Steve armed with some good old fashioned loppers.

Helen weeded both beds and, once this was completed, mowed the lawn. All it then took to finish was a quick strim of the edges and Mrs C's garden looked much better! A good job for GoodGym.
