This morning 5 Goodgymers met up at Worthing Leisure Centre to tidy the garden area and patio in preparation for a possible opening in July. We had barely left when Boris said that leisure centres will not be opening in the coming weeks but time was not wasted. John Robinson, Emily McCunn, Lucy Booth, Gillian Cormack and Duncan Anderson all got to work as nature had taken over during lockdown. The patio had been well prepared by another volunteer Jerry Le Sueur who had spent several hours the previous day cleaning the patio slabs. John got straight to work shoveling dirt away from the patio while Lucy and Emily moved the picnic tables. Lucy, Gill and Emily started to weed the garden area. Duncan re-planted some lavender that Emily had her eyes on as John was caught leaning against his spade and playing on his phone. Lucy and Emily cleared a horseshoe bed and filled the compost heap to the top. After an hour we all went in to get an exclusive look at the new Gym at Worthing LC and it was all agreed that their was at least another mission on this garden and we could combine it with a run around the track.
