The Three Pigeons Plot : Anytime Solo Sessions week to Sunday 1 November 2020

Sign up for a solo stint of weeding and tidying to help keep things ticking over during the coming week. This week's mission is for the week up to and including Sunday 8 November 2020, at a time(s) to suit you.

Tasks for this week:

1. General tidying and Leaf Clearance. As we move into winter a lot of the maintenance is about keeping things tidy. Remove litter and leaves and if you have secauteurs or scissors, dead-head flowers that are over. Perennials that have finished flowering will brown and wither and at this point can be cut down to near ground level - the new growth will appear next Spring.

2. Weeding. Leave the weeds and green waste in the clear sack that is in or near the big flower pot in the centre of the bed. These are some of the most common weeds that we find: Shepherds Purse, Lawn grass, Plantains, Dandelions, Groundsel, Spurge. If in any doubt as to whether or not something is a weed just leave it.

3. Adding material to the Insect Hotel. Find hollow dried grasses, reeds, bamboo etc. and cut to size to fill the plastic Boll pots. Add old terracota plant pots and terracotta roof tiles to fill the roof space.

Take Photos and send them with a mini run report Don’t forget to take photos of your session and then Email them to anita.capewell@btinternet.com with your own mini run report and pun. The report can be just a short line or something more extended, it's completely up to you. They will all be compiled into a diary style Run Report for the whole week.

Additional Information:

You’ll need to bring your own gloves and tools for weeding.

There may be a bag for green waste in the big plastic flower pot beside the insect hotel. If there isn't, just leave the green waste in the plastic flower pot.

How are you getting there?
