A great relief to find that the new roof of the Insect Hotel survived Storm Ellen on Friday.

No group session this week but our awesome Good Gym team continued with their 'Anytime Sessions' to keep the plot watered, weeded and tidied:

Kate, Wednesday 19th August

As it had rained off & on most of the day, including some quite heavy downpours, I decided it would be a great time to get some of the more stubborn weeds out of the ground. I made use of one of the new green buckets and filled it up with some big dandelions, a bunch of fat hen and lots of tiny little weeds making the leaf mulch we'd spread home. I also began digging up a large patch of grass that's growing downhill of the sunflowers: what on turf?!

Salwa, Sunday 23 August.

On this lovely Sunday evening, I ran along to 3 Pigeons to do a touch of watering and clearing of the plot. By the time I arrived, the river had risen to cover parts of the towpath, which made the watering task a doddle! As the waters receded, I cleared some of the leaves in and around the plot, leaving it looking a little tidier around the edges.
