Three Pigeons Post: Anytime Sessions week ending Sunday 16 August

‘ Bird Brain’

Harry. Tues 11 August. Watering (lots).

Anita. Wednesday am, 12th August. ‘Handle with Care’. I went down to do some watering but ended up doing a weeding session as well. Unfortunately the plastic broke on one side of one of the green buckets so now one bucket leaks and the other has no handle. I managed to snatch a photo of a pigeon by the plot before it flew off.

Mike & Nat, Friday 14 Aug. ‘Double trouble’. Mike and Nat (husband and wife so it's allowed!) took to Three Pigeons on a grey and mild Friday morning; a lovely temperature for running after this week's scorching weather. Fortunately it had been raining the past few days which meant the soil was well watered so we didn't need to water this time. But the storm from a couple of days ago had done some damage to some of the plants but fortunately the glorious insect hotel is still standing proud. We soon got our eye in - removing leaves or damaged foliage that had been whipped up by the storm, as well as, pulling up weeds. Giving our beautiful plants space to thrive! We also tidied up the general area around the plot, sweeping and weeding, making sure to pick out any bits of rubbish to pop in the nearby bin. We soon filled up a sack of green waste - job done! Many locals stopped to admire the plot, say hello and thank us for all the work we do.

Cathy. Saturday 15 August. I weeded and de-stoned a bit this morning around 11am (lots of competing going on) and will do more tomorrow when there for the balsam bash session. Also, I was enchanted by all the bees attracted to the flowers in the plot. They weren't the only, however. Don't think there was a person that passed by that didn't stop to admire or comment on the garden, particularly the insect hotel - one fella noticed that roof was now on and another responded to her endlessly questioning children that it was called 3 pigeons due to the shape of the structure. Hmmm...perhaps if you hallucinate properly!
