It was a drizzly, dreary Sunday morning as the 4 intrepid goodgymmers wandered the quiet backwaters of Fairlop Waters in search of rubbish to roundup and dispose of safely. At first as we roamed the empty fields nothing was to be found, but then a pile of black bags that had been carefully tied was spotted. They had been expertly ripped open by a crafty fox and the contents scattered. Next on to Station Road where bottles and cans nestled along the hedgerows, including some snazzy gold vodka bottles. Thanks came from passers by who were pleased to see Julia, James, Linda and Sharon clearing up their turf. We made our way back to the boathouse to enjoy a hot beverage whilst putting the world to rights and laughing about old times.
