Another great collection day for the food bank with the earlier groups collecting 20+ crates full of cans, pasta, cereal, long life milk etc. Maxine, Tracy and Mel took on the last session for Saturday which wasn't quite as busy as earlier in the day. Still, the people coming through showed their generosity with lots of useful items including some sweet treats like biscuits and Easter eggs. Customers had listened well to the suggested donations with lots of canned meat, pasta, long life milk and fruit juice. A prolific amount of beans - baked beans featuring high in the 4+ crates collected in the last couple of hours, but also black beans, haricot, and other types of beans, hence the title of the report! Jackie from Food Bank was very appreciative of everyone helping out over the last couple of days and has said she'll let us know the total weight of the food collected!
