Tandem Cycling at Bradbury Fields

Following the last community mission with Bradbury Fields, they have asked Good Gym for competent cyclists again, who are comfortable riding a tandem bicycle with a blind/partially sighted person behind them. Please note that the deadline for this task is midday on the 29th September so we can have enough time to pair people up.

The last cycle ride was great fun and made a massive difference to the lives of those we helped. For some of them it was the first time they had been out socially since the start of the pandemic.

This time they are wanting to do a "proper" cycle ride. It will involve us cycling to a place where we will have a bite to eat and drink, then returning to base. The start time will be 9.00am in order to get people paired up and try the bikes out and we will set off about 9.30am. We will be back around 1.30pm. This is a longer than normal Community Mission but it will be well worth the effort.

A bit of info. about Bradbury Fields: They enable blind, partially sighted people and people with dual sensory impairments to achieve their potential. They give people the ability to contribute to the social and economic fabric of their local communities. Bradbury Fields (formerly known as the Liverpool Voluntary Society for the Blind (LVSB) was established in 1857, to provide a service for blind people in their own homes. They provide rehabilitation services support and advice services, equipment, and a wide range of activity clubs.
