Mission

What a load of rubbish!

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Liverpool.

So many of us take everyday things for granted...not giving a second thought to something as simple, mundane, routine, and essential, as taking out the rubbish.

But for Ms C, who has mobility issues, this is impossible.

Living on the third floor, and with no lift, Ms C doesn't have access to an outside area to store the bags. Just imagine, then, having to keep bin bags, full of household rubbish, inside your home...until someone can come along to take them out for you.

The most difficult part of this task was finding Ms C...losing gps part way didn't help...fortunately, I met many helpful people on the way who gave directions 👍

Once on site, the task was straight forward. Three flights of stairs, a fob to open the door, a short walk along the path, a key to open the outside gate, bin area arrived at...job done. Returning the fob and key, Ms C was already concerned about future bin bags needing to be removed for her.

Such a small task, but what an impact these things have on the day to day lives of our most vulnerable neighbours.

I hope I don't take the little things for granted...how lucky are we, who can help ourselves?
