Mrs J made my day

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Bournemouth.

A few bags of rubbish was all Mrs J needed a hand with. She has mobility issues so can't really leave her home, and her son who usually helps her has covid...GoodGym to the rescue!

When I arrived, Mrs J was concerned I might not be able to lift the heavy bin. I assured her that, with a wriggly, bouncy 1 year old at home, I'm much stronger than I look! (That said, I was glad of the lift to save me doing 4 flights of stairs 😄).

A bag of recycling and 6 bags of general rubbish later and Mrs J was very glad that it had all been cleared. She was so greatful for the help, but more so that I didn't want any money. 'It's free?' 'Yes of course, I'm a volunteer' 'Wow, I'm quite touched, isn't that just wonderful. Can I ask for you again next time Hannah' 'We have lots of volunteers so if it's not me it will be another lovely person, but I'll keep a special eye out and hope to see you again' and with that I was on my way.

A good deed done, a smile on her face and mine.
