3 GG Sheffield runners braved the dark and damp eve to help SUSTRANS SIMON with the upkeep of the National Cycle Network (NCN).

This week we went even further than normal with a long uphill there and largely downhill on the way back. A real test of the endurance and great to get a longer run in once in a while to push our limits and raise our fitness levels!

The task was to clear as much of the mud and leaves of a section of the path that connected to local houses and provides a key active travel route to various other areas.

The leaves and mud had combined to make the path very narrow and slippery in places. We got straight to it with brush, shovel and plough to clear as much of the path as we could. As you can see from the before and after photos, even with a small group we made a big impact, widening the path a huge amount and making it more safe and accessible for future users.

That's it for 2022. See you in 2023!
