Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.

The Stroke Association are holding a large community event at the Knavesmire, York Racecourse on Sunday 15 March, bringing hundreds of local people together, including stroke survivors and their families, for a fun run. There will be music, refreshments, and celebrations as participants achieve their personal targets. Participants can run 5K or 10K.

They are looking for teams of volunteer marshals to help on the day, directing and encouraging runners. This is a great opportunity to showcase your community involvement as well as supporting the Stroke Association, helping to rebuild lives after stroke across Yorkshire.

They will provide a welcome briefing, branded high-visibility vests, 2-way radios (1 per marshal point) and refreshments for each volunteer.

*Anyone wanting to join as a marshal should complete the online volunteering form. *

They are looking to cover 3 marshal points in total, ideally in pairs. Volunteers need to arrive at 9am, with volunteer briefing at 9.30am. All marshals will be offsite by 3pm at the latest.

You can read more about our Resolution Run on the website, on social media (#JointheResolution) and there was a lovely article in the Yorkshire Evening Post recently too.
