Good Morning Goodgymmers! Today three people who were not born in Britain navigated the aisles of Tesco and went on the emotional roller coaster of trying to figure what a chicken slice was.

This has had to be one of the most fun missions I've been on. We went into the Tesco (which I know very well and have spent many a not sober night trying to reach the last pint of cookie dough) and went to a set of doors which I have walked past but never entered! Where did these mysterious doors lead we asked - Narnia? A secret entrance to the crystal maze?

Actually none of the above! It was the back entrance which led to the loading bay, where the lovely Terry from Age UK was waiting for us with shopping trolleys and lists for the recipients. She did a quick temperature check and off we went to do the shopping.

We soon realised that whilst 90% of items were easy enough to find, but there were ones that were never in the place we expected them to be. Also because Mayuko and Richard seem to have healthier diets, they were very confused by some of the junk food on the list. Fortunately the crisps aisle in Tesco Surrey Quays, has been re-named the Mridula Aisle, and I was in there in a pinch to help them out.

Other amusing anecdotes included: 1) Me not being able to find mini quiches - turns out they were not in the ready meal aisle, but the uncooked meats aisle - obviously. 2) Me not being able to find Halal yoghurt, which again confusingly was in the meat section instead of the yogurt section - makes sense. 3) Richard accidentally thinking that a carton of butter meant collecting the cardboard box which contained 9 tubs of butter. This caused some confused glances from other shoppers given his svelte frame.

Obviously because I was involved I had to make this a competition. Because Goodgym has made me a much better human being, I did not send Mayuko and Richard to the incorrect aisle in order to win the game of having the most completed shops at the end of the mission. Instead I helped them as they did me. Damn you Goodgym - I'm losing my edge! Still was the first to the finish line with the most carts!

After that we took a quick selfie and we were done! Terry filled us in how they were helping people who were shielding and thanked us for our help today. Thanks to Adele for setting this up, this was a really fun community mission!

Stay safe goodgymmers!
