It was another hot run up to Northfield high street for Karin and me yesterday to help out at the Scope charity shop. This time we met the shop manager, Rosie, who asked if we'd normally buy clothes from a charity shop – were we spending more time looking at the stock than tidying it?!

In fact we were appalled to discover that a bright yellow ball gown we'd spotted on our first mission to Scope still hadn't been snapped up – along with some glass slippers (OK, silver flats) – resulting in this week's pun.

After an hour of hoovering, wiping down surfaces, tidying the racks and putting out the latest donations for the next day, it was time to run back down the hill.
