Naomi and myself met at the usual GoodGym Derby Tuesday night location for a litter picking session in the city.

We took in sights around Sadlergate, the marketplace, cathedral quarter and the riverside gardens....seeing the city away from the usual hustle and bustle of daily life or a busy night out gave us a chance to see some shops and venues we weren't aware of before and we even discovered from chatting to a delivery driver a residency with a swimming pool above shops in the heart of Derby.

The usual culprits of masks and tissues could be found all around the streets and there were some other interesting finds like Naomi's favourite sweet wrappers (black jacks and fruit salads), a full can of Lynx Africa (unwanted Christmas present?) and some smashed fruit (watermelon and pineapple - what a waste!) which we were given a heads up about from a group near Riverlights. Naomi displayed some impressive upper body strength in getting the huge pieces of fruit into the bin with her litter picker.

Lots of great chat about Naomi's Brighton marathon training plans and we even saw some Christmas lights that were still on display. Two bin bags filled and the streets of Derby were rid of many cigarette butts.
