Part of Richmond Runfest 2019 was the much anticipated Graze Sundown 5km in Old Deer Park on Saturday 14th September.

How likely was it that I would get a gang of GoodGym runners up for a Saturday evening 5km? Well, very likely it seems, especially when free prosecco is involved!

A huge group of us descended on Old Deer Park in our bright red shirts to race and watch the sun go down at this fantastically fun run, that included not only a vibrant atmosphere at the beginning with festival vibes and great music but an after party too!

After some disco style warm up moves, we set off on a 2.5km x2 loop of the park where we were cheered by neon dressed party goers, 118 guys, and DJ's dressed as animals pumping out some fab tunes that couldn't help but get us singing and dancing as we ran!

Once we passed the finish line and collected our goodie bags and swanky medals, we headed to the Goddess of Victory tent for our reward of prosecco and watched the remaining gorgeous pink sky fade away into darkness.

What better way to do a cool down after a run than to enjoy the Richmond Food & Fitness Expo and the Fuller’s bar and listen to the smooth sounds of Sharlene & Vula from Basement Jaxx! We swapped our trainers for our dancing shoes and celebrated a great race before heading into Richmond town for some food.

It was a great evening had by all, and lovely to see not only Richmond runners but visitors from Camden, Lambeth and Wandsworth GoodGym too. Big thank you for Mena and JP for looking after our bags and taking photos and well done to all those who achieved a PB in the race...plus a special well done to those that had already run the Kew 10km in the morning!

Thanks everyone, hopefully see you again next year!
