3 runners ran to help the Maidenhead community allotment in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Christelle, Meggie and Jess ran and cycled to help at the Maidenhead community allotment. Amy dropped by with the instructions and the keys and after some holiday news catch ups left the team to it.

There were 8 berry bushes to be planted, manure to be relocated, watering to be done and of course the water butts to be filled.

Meggie became the ‘Watering Can Queen’ and took the task of filling the butts and thoroughly watering everything in sight! No mean feat on her own!

Christelle and Jess began the task of planting the berry bushes. There was one blackberry bush and 7 raspberry bushes to be bedded in with a bit of manure for good luck and Meggie chased them round with the watering can! They didn’t get in a ‘jam’ with it though and 40 minutes later 8 bushes were in their new homes.

The final task was to move the newly collected manure and re-locate it out of sight ready for the next planting party to use, an impromptu weights session for Jess and Christelle.

The team cleaned up and headed home, Meggie on her bike, Christelle to enjoy a walk and Jess to run home in time for a meeting!
