We walked into our shift at Oxford Mutual Aid today and into quite a bit of chaos! After a very lean period at the food bank several large deliveries had arrived all within a few hours, and crates of ambient goods were stacked in every spare space. Lorenzo came to the rescue, stacking, sorting and organising a large proportion of the goods.

Everyone else jumped to it packing food parcels; the stock levels on the shelves were finally looking more positive, although the fridges were pretty bare. Regular and Emergency food parcels under control, the food waste went out - Ben being our hero for popping by to help out and dealing with the smelly food waste!

Last week's Oxford Mutual Aid stats:

  • 257 regular food parcels were delivered, reaching 857 people, including 494 adults, 254 children and 74 babies

  • 74 Emergency Parcels supported 241 people in 74 households; 159 adults, 66 children and 16 babies

  • 242 precooked Kitchen Collective meals were given to 81 households

  • 32 extra adult parcels were supplied to hostels to support those recently rehoused.

  • 17 parcels went to 32 adults and 50 children for Syrian Sisters

  • 10 parcels were given to Oxfordshire Asian women's voice in Rose Hill to help 68 people

Hundreds of volunteers helping seven days a week help make this possible. Thank you everyone!
