Post run Friday
Those who have tested COVID-19 positive and their contacts will receive necessary information and guidance
Location
Date and time
10:00 - 11:00Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.
We are asked by the City of York Council Public Health Team to help with delivery of letters to people who have tested COVID-19 positive and those who they have been in contact with. Each letter will contain a personal message from local NHS doctors, an explanation of when self-isolation needs to start, and when it can end, and information about the support available incl. the helpline number. They want the letters delivered to households by 2pm each day. We are looking for 4 runners to collect one batch of letters each at 10am from the West Offices Print Unit (Station Rise, YO1 6GA side of the building, by the War Memorial) and deliver it to one of the below community hubs. Volunteers linked with each community hub will then undertake delivery to particular households. You may want to have a rucksack, or panniers if you are on a bike, as the number of letters in the batch will vary depending on the day and could be between 10 and 30.
When you sign up please comment which of the following community hubs you are delivering to:
Foxwood Community Centre, Cranfield Place, YO24 3HY
Clements Hall, Nunthorpe Road, YO23 1BW
Tang Hall Community Centre, Fifth Avenue, YO31 0UG
Haxby Memorial Hall, 16 The Village, Haxby, YO32 3HT
How are you getting there?

It turns out that the letters will be ready for collection at different times of the day and the Council decided to undertake the first week involving its own volunteers linked with Community Hubs. GoodGym may well be asked to help with this in the future, once the process is established.
