A professional cleaning team are now being employed to do this task so Saturday's Community mission in Russell Square is now unfortunately CANCELLED
Please come along and join us at Russell Square to help with an interesting task!
On our first visit to Russell Square we planted hundreds of bulbs in the flower beds and had a great time doing so. Earlier this week we went back to remove the mesh that has been protecting the bulbs whilst they germinate. We've now been asked if we can help with a more unusual task to help the Square look its best.
There's a statue of Sir Francis Russell, the second Duke of Bedford that has been somewhat neglected (see event picture). According to his Wikipedia profile Francis "appears to have been a generous and popular man", so it would be great if GoodGym can help clean up his plinth. This will allow this area of the park to be enjoyed by the public once again.
It'd be great to have a big team to help with this, and I'll look into booking some space in a nearby pub for a celebratory drink/lunch afterwards.
How are you getting there?
