Tonight we packed 44 parcels of food and other essential items for people in our community, and delivered 30 of them. Those parcels helped 61 adults, 5 children, 3 teenagers, and several babies and toddlers, making it easier for the households to cope with the challenges of this pandemic.

As we enter February we tick off our 3rd month of doing Wednesday night packing and deliveries for the Oxford Mutual Aid Food Bank. OMA is the only 7-days-a-week source of food support in Oxford, and works closely with other groups such as Cherwell Larder and Botley Larder to help alleviate food poverty all across the city and surrounding area. It is entirely volunteer run, and the work we do with them is hugely appreciated by the organisers.

To give you an idea of the ever-growing scale of the operation, last week Oxford Mutual Aid packaged and delivered 281 food parcels, which reached (at least) 378 adults, 258 children and 36 babies. Through Kitchen Collective, the cooked meals crew, they also made 425 meals, delivering these to a total of 125 households.

Thank you all for your commitment and enthusiasm for helping on Wednesday evenings, and at other times too. It makes a big difference.

It's all about community and solidarity!

Welcome Amy - great to have you along to your first GoodGym evening!
