Despite the rain and greyness of Monday night, GoodGym combined with the lush green vegetation, literally lit up the Thames Towpath doing a ‘baby balsam bash!‘ between Ham House and Teddington Lock.

‘Baby’ because thankfully this very aggressive weed has not yet gone rampant as it’s still early season. So a handful of us tucked into the banks of the river to pull up and snap the early starters.

We think we got most of it.

And would like to thank the kind resident across the river on Eel Pie Island who shouted an SOS “Are you OK, are you OK?” most concerned we may have lost a dog in the fast flowing river...

JPs reply: “We’re fine thanks. Just doing some gardening for the council.”

Definitely all’s well that ends well.
