Friends of Norris Green Park - Walled Garden Restoration
We are restoring the historical features within the park - once the site of the long gone Norris Green mansion. This summer we are opening a heritage centre and volunteer-led cafe, the walled garden will be used to grow fruit & veg and get the community involved in health eating & horticulture - we have made a good start but we need more hands on deck to clear the area .....our weekly volunteer crew are all over 65 so having some young people to help would be absolutely awesome! You can see more about our work here https://friendsofnorrisgreenpark.wordpress.com

Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.

We will be returning to Norris Green park for a third time to continue to help the park's Friends group who are renovating the heritage aspects of the park. Depending on the numbers who sign up, the tasks on this visit will include helping clear back the overgrown pathways in the old walled kitchen garden that belonged to the long-gone Norris Green mansion, and also weeding the newly created flower beds made by the volunteers over the last few years. Hand tools are provided (please bring your own gloves). There are basic hand washing facilities (no toilet) and free refreshments available.

How are you getting there?

Although rain isn't an automatic reason not to do a session, there's been an issue from the task owner end so we've decided to reschedule!
