Last night it was an extra exciting session as we had a new task. After uniting those who had made it independently to the task and those who ran, we had a lovely warm welcome from the school volunteers.

We were greeted by Richard, who has been the mastermind behind creating a fabulous learning area for the children, a very cheery sign on the blackboard, and a whole coop of very beautiful chickens. The idea behind the space which also features a gorgeous vegetable garden and outdoor theatre, is that the high proportion of children with additional needs and their classmates are able to use the different areas to promote wellbeing through nature.

Richard was ready to put us through our paces and even gave us the option of extra burpees (which I didn't sense a huge amount of enthusiasm for). Instead we made it through an extremely creepy cabin over to the leaf pens where we got started with an epic sieving and shifting task. The idea is that we got the richest, most nutrient dense amount of mulch as possible to feed back into the earth and grow all those lovely plants.

Battling on through the growing dark, we managed to get several wheelbarrows' worth of fabulous compost - and some very sketchy photos (apologies for that!). Next week we're back for our second session at the school so hope you can make it! Sign up here for more Monday fun.

Don't forget there are a few really tasks coming up where we could do with a few more pairs of hands, including these sessions to help spread the word to local GPs about support for young trans and LGBTQ+ people - you can sign up here and here . Don't worry if the timings don't work for you, we can sort out a time for you to pick up a pack and deliver when it's convenient for you.

Have a happy week everyone.
