That’s the spirit!

Laura and Lil met at the park under slightly ominous grey clouds. We were soon introduced to the War Memorial Park Friends group who were organising the litter pick.

Litter pickers and bags in hand, we set off to tackle the litter that had been left in the bushes and hedges in the park. It wasn’t long before we had lined the bottom of the bag with cans and bottles. We also picked up lots of plastic wrappers that can be harmful to wildlife. Luckily the rain held off too.

After an hour of litter picking, Laura headed off to enjoy the rest of her day and Lil headed to the cafe to find out more about the park friends group and complete a short run enjoying this beautiful, well loved city park.

We hope to make these litter picks a regular occurrence, working alongside the group.
