Our 4 avengers assembled on what turned out to be a match night down at Stanley Park. After some shenanighans finding a parking space during the football, Sam's community spirit was rewarded by a stunned parking attendant who took his personal, extendable litter picket as proof enough he deserved free parking. Sam, Jo, Pauline and Tim encouraged both by visiting Geordies and supporters of Liverpool's lesser known football team we set about our task. Stanley Park is much better maintained nowadays gone are the days of unearthing sofas, shopping trollies or mattresses instead our focus was on discarded bottles, crisp packets and cans. In two pairs we circumnavigated the park reconvening an hour later at our starting point satisfied that the throngs of post match football supporters would be impressed with our efforts.
