We were to meet Gill of the Barnsley Litterpickers tonight. One problem through, she got stuck in Doncaster. Not to worry though, their members still advised us of a good area to pick in. We had all the tools (and purple bags) required to go it on our own. We were stood up, but we didn't sit down!

Getting the wrong end of the pick

We headed off from Glasshouse to our rendezvous point on the corner of Summer Ln/ Stock's Ln, We each took a side of the road and picked our way up Stock's Lane to the playing fields behind Royston Lead. Once there we worked our way around the perimeter of the fields, skillfully extracting rubbish from the areas of longer grass. There were quite a lot of plastic bottles around the children's play area which were snapped up by us. A plastic bag was found with 2 full bottles of water in, which was strange in this exceptionally hot weather. Notably this was likely the stuff that is given out by another of our monthly beneficiaries, the BCDP.

Each having filled full a purple bag in the park, it was time for some groovy exercise action. We made use of the lovely grassy area and found a good bit of shade where we could strut our stuff. Planking with intermittent press-ups every time Roxanne is mentioned in The Police's song Roxanne; not an easy task!

After this, we found a bin on the road to leave our special purple bags next to and ran down to our usual stretching off location next to Glasshouse. When we got there it was full of rubbish. We had one purple bag left so we decided to clear it up before we undertook our stretches; aren't we good?!
