Today’s task was a GoodGym rescue mission as the JQBID have had to cancel all face to face events due to the new restrictions in Birmingham, including the litter pick scheduled today. Not all was lost as we could do our bit, so I met with Annie and David to go on a litter pick around our home turf. We also met Balal in the Golden Square with his daughter, so we got a valuable chance to catch up and he got our photo before we set off. It was great to have our own support team to send us off, we had more supporters than any of the local football teams! As the wind was still up we each filled a bag (David got a second going as well) along a meandering route of side streets and car parks, as well as St. Pauls Square, where we usually stop for a fitness session on group runs. Thankfully today it was the litter pickers working hard in the church square rather than us. Our route took us handily to our bag drop off spot after an hour, it almost looked as if we had planned it, and we were able to go our separate ways knowing that we had done our little bit of good.
