Join us to help the team from Darley Park improve their walled garden ahead of summer visitors and the flowering season.
We'll be helping to finish laying metal edging between grass paths and flower beds to make the paths safer and increase accessibility to all parts of the garden for all. A trench needs to be dug around the beds and the metal edging hammered in place.
Tools will be provided (hammers and spades) and the work will be outdoors and quite manual.
The garden team are using a commercial edging called Everedge which comes in 2 metre lengths. The task will involve running a line along the bed edge, digging a shallow trench and placing the edging along the line and hammering it into the ground. The edging has spikes. There is a bit of replacing soil in front and behind the edge to tidy up.
How are you getting there?
