GoodGym Huddersfield are a friendly, social running group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities, community organisations and other projects in our area.
Almondbury Bank Wood is a pocket of urban woodland and a perfect place for the local community to walk and connect with nature. The surrounding area is largely urban and this space provides an opportunity for the community to connect with nature and the wellbeing benefits this provides. GoodGym's job will be to clear the paths of trip and fall hazards so lots of local people can continue to safely access the woodland.
The run will be 2.5K to the woods and 2.5K back, there is a bit of a hill but GoodGym always makes sure no one is left behind. As ever there is free parking and changing facilities for all GoodGymmers at the Stadium Health & Fitness Club.

New to GoodGym?
This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.
New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

Group run cancellation
Following extensive research, consultation with our trustees and work on how GoodGym as a community can play a positive role during the Coronavirus outbreak we have reached the conclusion to make extensive changes to our operations.
**All group runs will stop for the foreseeable future**
This decision has been made as these are the events at which most people gather and at which we are most at risk of spreading infection.
We will continue to update this page with our most up to date guidance:
