Tidying Snow Island
Keeping this important urban green space looking lovely

GoodGym Huddersfield are a friendly, social running group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities, community organisations and other projects in our area.
Snow Island is the section of Huddersfield's Riverside Way which has been adopted by GoodGym. Our challenge is to keep it looking neat, tidy and safe for those who use this little green corridor and also for the resident wildlife. There will probably be some litter picking to be done, so if you bring your headtorches and gloves I'll bring the black bags and we can make a real difference to our local environment. Additionally there may be some vegetation to remove or cut back too.
At just 1.5K there and 1.5K back it’s a nice short run too, so a great opportunity if you are trying GoodGym for the first time and/or are wary about the longer distances. GoodGym groups always play nice, no one ever gets left behind on the run, regardless of pace.
There’s always someone to chat to, you do something good for your local community and you get a run, plus there’s free parking and changing facilities for all GoodGymmers at the Stadium Health & Fitness Club....why not give it a go?

New to GoodGym?
This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.
New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

Group run cancellation
Following extensive research, consultation with our trustees and work on how GoodGym as a community can play a positive role during the Coronavirus outbreak we have reached the conclusion to make extensive changes to our operations.
**All group runs will stop for the foreseeable future**
This decision has been made as these are the events at which most people gather and at which we are most at risk of spreading infection.
We will continue to update this page with our most up to date guidance:
