Ey up!

Tonight... five fantastic GoodGymmers headed to Locke Park to help with a gardening task!

After a last minute cancellation from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, a quick change of plan meant we were heading up to help the Friends of Locke Park with some more of their flower beds! After a quick warm up of star jumps, star crosses and some weird backward star crosses, we headed off on the up hill run to the park.

Upon arrival we met Anne at the tool shed, who handed us our weapons and showed us to the bed they had been working on that day. It was a lovely evening to be down on our hands and knees pulling up the weeds - James loved it so much, that he didn't stand up for the entire 60 minutes we were there!

As always we chatted and laughed about a variety of topics. Debbie got so passionate about her topic of conversation that she hacked away at the bush a bit too much! Ooops!

Take that Alan bush!

After an hour of hard graft, we had cleared a large area of carpeted weeds, it was looking nice and tidy! We took back all the tools and went to see the painted mural Anne wanted to show us (see pic) larvley!

To get the groups heart rates up again, ready for the steady job down hill, we sprinted the last 100m of the park. Once back to base we used the steps to do some stretching and said our farewells! Another lovely evening!
