A wet start to Sunday meant that we were unable to cut the grass for Mr and Mrs C and they were surprised that we had turned up given the rain.

However, we had a look at the front and back gardens and agreed that we could clear the front of brambles, which were growing out into the road, and half of the back garden was covered in a sea of nettles that we could pull out by hand.

Ady and I got stuck straight into the front and quickly cut back the brambles and got them bagged.

Into the back and warned to wear long trousers we opted for a right side to left clearance of the nettles and despite getting stung numerous times we managed to clear the lot, Ady making friends with ladybirds and spiders along the way.

We managed to fill lots of black bin bags and were done just inside two hours with the sun briefly popping it’s head out to say hello whilst we worked and chatted.
