We had a great big group this evening and it was fab to catch up with some GoodGymers who we haven't seen in a while.

We welcomed everyone and had a quick briefing at Coop and then handed over to Sophie. Sophie is doing her Run Leader training with GoodGym, so that she can lead Group Runs (yay!) and as part of her training she is doing her LiRF, aka Leadership in Running Fitness qualification with UK Athletics. For her qualification (and for our enjoyment) we needed to record her leading a warm up and 'main session', so I filmed while Sophie was in charge.

Sophie led a great dynamic warm up, getting everyone's heart rates up and even raising a cheer from the nearby curry house!

We then set off on foot to Sandringham Road, me leading the walkers the most direct route via Gardner Rd, and Sophie leading the runners via Queensway. We arrived within a few minutes of each other and Sophie then set up a 'Meet and Retreat' session around this residential road with a few squats and lunges along the way for good measure. It proved a great way to push the runners' pace, and we had a good LiRF along the way too. Well done Sophie!

We then headed to Holyport Football Club, a fantastic local, volunteer-led club, who had a fence in need of paint. Thanks to task owner Jason, and GoodGymer turned task owner Louise for a warm welcome. We were supplied with enough brushes and rollers for us all to get stuck in, and Diya set us a challenge to complete the fence in 20 minutes.

You might think this goal was o-fence-ively ambitious, but Holy ...port we did it! Special mention to Georgeta, who tackled much of the left hand fence by herself while the rest of us swarmed the right hand side. Also well done to Sara for avoiding head on collision with various obstacles.

We were rewarded with scrummy brownies, the perfect treat to power our journeys home. Well done team!
