After we'd all commented on what an unexpectedly warm evening it was (and made mental notes to swap over to our warm weather kit ) we warmed up our limbs ready for a steady hill session.

Our warm-up run included a short flat stint past the Weir and then it was pretty much a lovely series of inclines until we reached the Cotswolds Way....and the up hill fun really began.

There our magnificent seven runners focused on their hill running form: looking straight ahead; staying light on their toes; pumping their arms and aiming to run at a steady pace all the way up to the top.

We were rewarded with the glow of achievement and glorious views of Bath complete with hot air balloons. We caught our breath along the top, hit a steady pace, then flew down the hill and back around to start the loop all over again.

Well done one and all for embracing the hills and recognising the benefits they have on making you stronger runners. You'll thank them when you see your speed improving on your flat running routes...

And if you're looking for a race challenge then why not pick a distance and sign up to the Relish Running Races Two Tunnels event on the 2nd May https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/two-tunnels-bath-5km-10km-half-marathon
