Another bumper GG Portsmouth run tonight, it's great to be consistently getting over 20 pairs of enthusiastic hands helping out local organisations and it puts my memory to a massive test trying to remember all the news to put in the run report!!

Congratulations to all these runners:

  • Ellie for running her furthest run with us tonight and still looking fresh at the end!
  • Lynn who noticed her improved fitness meaning she can now run all the way to the task without walk breaks.
  • Val who completed her 50th good deed at the weekend and found herself top of the heroes board with cheers from all corners of the GoodGym nation!
  • Judy who was sporting a brand new t-shirt tonight (brave as there was painting involved!)
  • Lucy who ran a MASSIVE PB at the Gosport half marathon
  • Angela who's on the road to recovery from her injury

Tonight's task

After a run down to the Groundlings Theatre (without the ability to cut through Victoria Park) we found Richard and a dance rehearsal. His first question was who wants to jigsaw, Judy volunteered herself and then realised that she wasn't going to be sitting down to put a 1000 piece back together so passed the baton to Duncan and Tim who were whisked away into a side room to cut out clouds! Everyone else negotiated the dancers and headed for the stage (so many performers...). Jen was quick to volunteer for the screwing job (So. Many. Puns.) and Rosie was wielding a dustpan and brush to sweep the stage. There was cloud painting, skirt stapling, stage painting and plenty of laughter as always.

We managed to do quite a lot in the time we were there - that's the beauty of many hands, well done everyone.

If you'd like to see your bit of scenery in action, check out the Groundlings website and book yourself a panto ticket.

Christmas is coming

In case you hadn't noticed, it's December on Sunday (and there are 2 community missions that day too) so for the final three Wednesday night group runs of the year we greatly encourage dressing up in your best festive running gear and Christmas hats. Next week we will be decorating Santa's grotto - one not to be missed for fans of festivity! It is outside though so please bring a headtorch and warm gear.

We also have a couple of Christmas community missions - accompanying Santa's sleigh around Baffins on Friday 6th and Monday 9th December.

Ho ho hope you have a great week of running, see you at a GoodGym happening soon!
