Thanks to our wonderful parkrun community here in Swindon, a FREE weekly virtual 5K parkrun is available to everyone and anyone with social distancing adhered to.

18 runners volunteered. The course was checked before the event opened by Tracey C, who was also 27 minute pacer, set up was complete along with car park attendant thanks to Teresa. Marshals were in position and pacers were ready when the RD, megaphone in hand but not sporting Teresa's idea of hi vis in the form of a bikini, opened the weekends event.

182 runners, joggers and walkers took to the streets between 18.00 Friday and 18.00 Sunday to complete their very own 5K. The clash of very unpredictable weather had us wondering should I stay or should I go now. Stuart: 27 pacer and wife Tracy K: 30 pacer appeared to be soaked but said they got back just before the deluge that caught myself: 40 pacer & RD and Helen: 40 pacer & marshal we still had just over a Km to swim.

Paul: 20 pacer, Dave: 22 pacer, and Tracey C: 27 pacer looked like they stayed dry so clearly had insider info on the weather. Emma: 25 pacer and Jo: 35 pacer were the early birds out whilst most of us were still snoozing and Charles: Pacer 32 did look slightly damp.

A special mention to Hannah and Baby bump: 45 pacer(s) who also looked very dry and last but definately not least our lovely tailwalkers Ashleigh and Sam B who were probably more than damp due to Ashleigh swinging her way through the trees while Sam patiently looked on.

We even had Reverend Richard Curtsi, but there was no need as the queen decided not to visit and Mike joined us for a run following a dodgy knee that's been bothering him since mid April. Our marshals Helen, Teresa and Rhoda were very vocal with their shouts of encouragement that also welcomed 17 new to VPR runners and spurred 29 runners to their VPR-PBs

This concludes a fantastic weekend of support provided by GoodGym Swindon.
