9 Goodgymmers took advantage of a marrow window of opportunity to #DoGoodGetFitHowlAtTheMoon as they lent a hand at Wolves Lane.

"Oooo, I do love a good marrow, me"

I'll start by apologising to everyone who came up with a good pun for the title tonight. I laughed at every single one of them and when I sat to write this down, I remembered exactly zero of them. Gramps in his old age is becoming an unreliable narrator in many ways. So I suppose you can trust absolutely nothing that is committed to the page here.

I mean, surely a crew of dedicated and conscientious Goodgymmers wouldn't down tools 15 minutes into a task to engage in what can only be described as a debauched session of raving and smutty punnery in the dark. That has got to be a literary liberty on the part of a cantankerous author. Surely!

Anyway, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater here and see if we can wrestle a semblance of a run report from the jaws of complete parody.

Our Goodgymmers arrived at Wolves Lane tonight to find that a communication breakdown had meant none of the materials needed for us to clean the windows on the northernmost greenhouse on site had been left for us.  They didn't panic, Instead they jumped into action and soon were on the hunt for buckets and clothes and they fizzed and buzzed about as if there was no themarrow.

Soon we were in place at the aforementioned greenhouse where cleaning the windows internally proved a bit of a challenge as very tall tomato vines were very much in the way. We came up with a plan of action and for 15 minutes they cleaned windows like they have never cleaned before (ed note: they have cleaned windows like this before). Oh, reader, I wish you could've seen it.

However, soon they spotted a field of marrows, beetroots, and aubergines and it just proved too much for some of our Goodgymmers. A shockwave of puns pulsated through the camp climaxing on a dancing session to MC Luong's beets. Ever diligent, Gramps soon had mostly everyone cleaning windows again and we did a sparkling job. I think. We gathered for some cake (thanks, AAAAALLLLEEEEEEEEXXX™), and a knee ninja fitness session that inevitably turned into more dancing.

With bellies full of cake and laughter and windows partially more smudged than they were before we arrived, off we went into the night. But not before some howling. I mean you gotta howl.

Join us next week for tree planting prep at Chapman's Green.

Boom.

Such a fun way to end the craziness off a marrowful of laffs. MC Luong's disco beats.
