Lovely humans of GoodGym Ealing, we've got a challenge for you!

Complete these 12 challenges between 1 & 25 December and keep yourself active throughout the festive period. You can do them in any order you like and you can run, walk or cycle to complete any of them.

You can download the challenge sheet here. All challenges should be completed by midnight on 24th December. Enjoy!

Here's the full instructions:

  • Challenge 1: Visit a festive display on route and snap a selfie - Run, walk or cycle to find your favourite shop display, Christmas lights or decorations and take a selfie in front of it. Bonus points for doing it in your GoodGym t-shirt!

  • Challenge 2: Wear some festive attire while your exercising. Squats in a santa hat, a run in reindeer ears of a walk in a wooly Christmas jumper. Photos or it didn't happen!

  • Challenge 3: Travel past three pubs with royal names. There are tons of these in Ealing, so plan a route to hit three of them!

  • Challenge 4: Create some festive Strava art. This is where you plan a route that draws a shape when you're finished. Here are some excellent examples.

  • Challenge 5: Find a festive street sign in Ealing. I know of at least one (hint, it's in the picture) but are there more?!

  • Challenge 6: Complete 6 hill reps as part of a walk or run. Find a hill and go up and down it 6 times on your route, you can do it as a walk, run or cycle. It's excellent strength training!

  • Challenge 7: Drop a festive donation at Ealing Foodbank. Although it doesn't have to be festive, in fact any food donations will be greatly received! For this one you can get a good deed by signing up here - full details on how to donate when you follow the link.

  • Challenge 8:Meet up to run, walk or cycle with another GoodGym member. Meeting up with others for some (socially distanced) exercise is the perfect motivation to get out there. You can plan to meet others and share photos in the GoodGym Ealing Whatsapp Group. Please run in small groups of no more than 6 to ensure you're staying safe and distanced.

  • Challenge 9: Complete a 'not parkrun' 5km on a Saturday. You can run or walk anywhere you like to the tune of 5km or 3.1 miles. You should avoid any actual parkrun routes at 9am but otherwise the world is your oyster!

  • Challenge 10: Pick up 10 pieces of litter while you're out exercising. Wear gloves and never pick up anything sharp. But most importantly don't forget the hand sanitiser and to wash your hands thoroughly ASAP. 10 in the minimum, how much more will you do?! For this one you can get a good deed self logging you collection - add a photo and write a little report here when you've done it!

  • Challenge 11: Donate a piece of exercise attire to RERUN. If you've not heard of them before they are an awesome organisation upcycling, donating and extending the life of running clothes. For this one you can get a good deed by signing up here - full details on how to donate when you follow the link.

  • Challenge 12: Complete 12 x 1 minute planks throughout December. Last but not least the plank challenge, just 1 every other day will get you there!

Any questions about any of the challenges just comment below, drop me an email (olivia@goodgym.org) or join our Whatsapp Group.

I hope you all have fun ticking these off!
