You’re Haven a Laugh

This week, 5 members of goodgym helped Coventry Haven with their garden.

As it was a longer distance from our usual central meet up point, we met at the Arena Park shopping centre this week. This allowed for a few speedily bought cold drinks to be consumed and time to apply sun cream before setting off on the short run in the hot sun.

After leaving , we soon bumped into Liz who was running a slightly longer distance. Our route was short, but encompassed plenty of steps up and down and views of the Coventry Building Society of Arena.

Once we arrived at the Haven's location, we met Tessa who showed us around the area and explained to us what needed doing. Debora and I set about giving the outdoor furniture a new lease of life with wood stainer. Meanwhile, John, Laura and Liz got to work on the pesky weeds. As we worked, Tessa told us about the essential work they do and how the garden is used. Before very long, the whole area looked much tidier and a welcome space for staff to use when taking a break. We then took the short run back to the shopping centre and enjoyed the evening sunshine as we shared news and catch ups.
