Having completed Parkrun activities, Ryan, Fiona and Miriam met up with GoodGym favourite, Josie, at Brandwood End Cemetery to support the Friends of Brandwood End Cemetery clearing holly from a section of the graves.

Whilst we all enjoy holly at this time of year; the roots cause damage to the graves and the spiky leaves make maintenance and recording of the graves difficult. The plan was to remove the bushes from the root in order to clear the area thus allowing the preservation and mapping of the graves.

It was a lovely morning in beautiful surroundings with great weather; together we cleared a substantial amount of holly and enjoyed this hidden gem of a cemetery whilst ruminating about the cemetery's history and fine selection of trees.
