Gillian has wheelie bin working hard

This evening we headed to the Spencer Denney Centre in Windsor, the home of Age Concern Windsor, for a muck around in the garden....or should that be a macaron-d in the jardin?

We walked from the Pirate Park to the Centre, sweeping up Sara along the way and cheering on Gillian as she threw in a few hill reps. Our mission on arrival was more sweeping and a general tidy of the garden, so that day guests and their carers can enjoy this space over the coming months.

We used brooms, shovels and a wheelie bin to clear up heaps of leaves from the patio area and flower beds; we admired and filled the pallet compost bin built by Sheila, Garry and myself on a previous visit (ooh la la!); we tidied up a junk heap (aka spider haven) next to the new compost bin; and we also rescued some plants and tidied some pots.

We then had a treat in store - a belated celebration of Gillian's milestone, which snuck up on us at the start of the month. Bravo Gillian not just for 50, but for 51 good deeds! Thank you for giving us a reason to share some delicious macarons in your honour, and for even managing to come up with the above macaron pun - genius!

We finished with our walk back to the Pirate Park, chatting about everything from Mr Wong the dentist to Marco not wanting stitches from the expedition cook on a trip to Antarctica. Well done et bonne soirée!
