Voices of Hope is a Kingston based charity that cook meals for the vulnerable, and distribute boxes of ingredients to local families with young children, to encourage them to cook meals from scratch.

This Monday Sam and I turned up to help. We carried boxes of various items of food upstairs (okay, fine, we did use the lift, but we used it very efficiently and helped them to save time!). We were then asked to open bags containing 108kg worth of new potatoes and distribute them into open boxes so that could be left to breathe before being cooked.

Before leaving we couldn't miss the chance to chop up some bell peppers and portobello mushrooms, too.

VoH are struggling for volunteers now that more people are going back to work, and it felt good to be able to help them, even if only a little!
