We had a small head start on our Saturday afternoon shift this week thanks to finishing at the vaccine centre a bit early. I got in an hour ahead of the usual time, which gave me a chance to work with the previous shift on ways to make it quicker to prep the food parcels for the 2nd delivery route of the day, and also got a handful prepared by the time I'd normally be arriving. Not something I can do every week, but helpful today.

When the GoodGym team arrived at 3pm we were able to take over smoothly and get remaining food packages packed in good time. For the first time in a few weeks Chris the van driver didn't have to wait while we finished getting all his parcels ready. WIN!

There's lots to take in quickly when working at the food bank for the first time, and plenty to catch up on if it's been a few weeks between shifts, so well done Ben and Venetia for getting up to speed quickly!

Van loading, we turned to restocking, tidying, and cleaning, before using the vacated space for the 9 Emergency food requests.

Final task of the day? Binning the mouldy, slimy food waste. It's all glamour on a GoodGym task!

Congratulations on your 50th Good Deed Jo! Look forward to seeing you rocking the black Tshirt soon.
